Thousands of years old sarcophagi unearthed in Çorum province
A new discovery has been made in Çorum province famous for its abundant nature and deep rooted history. Some 1900-year-old sarcophagi have been unearthed during the excavations carried out in the district of Sungurlu in Çorum province. Ornamented with many reliefs and bearing valuable artifacts such as silver coins, golden earrings and rings, the sarcophagi are of great value. Planned to be displayed at the Archaeological Museum of Çorum, the findings are being restored for the time being.
