The World's Largest Flamingo Park in Izmir

As part of a project going on at the Izmir Birds Paradise, an artificial flamingo island has been created covering an area of 6,400 square meters.  In addition to the numerous birds’ nests, for the first time in the world, a variety of flamingo figures and flamingo eggs made of plaster have been placed in the area. It is expected that about 10 - 12 thousand flamingos will stay in the area during incubation period.  In the meantime, specific protection measures are also being developed.
