International Mesir Paste Festival was Held for the 474th Time

The Mesir Paste Festival of Manisa, which is a centuries old tradition of this colorful Aegean province, was held in the recent days. The International Manisa Mesir Paste Festival, which is inscribed on UNESCO’S Intangible Cultural Heritage List, has begun for the 474th time at the Sultan Mosque with the traditional distribution of mesir paste considered to be the cure for many ailments. Held every year with the arrival of spring, the joyful festival continued with a parade of folk dance groups from 12 countries.
