Day 1 ISTANBUL – Welcome to Istanbul. Istanbul’s rich history and culture combine with modern-day bustle to create a cosmopolitan metropolis that offers something for every interest. Its unique geographic setting was the primary reason Byzantium, as Istanbul was originally known, was founded here. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers for welcome cocktails. 


Day 2 ISTANBUL - Begin with a visit to Topkapi Palace, the main residence of the Ottoman Sultans, with its jewel encrusted treasury and elegant four courts. After a lunch break, visit the main sights around Sultanahmet Square, including the famous Hagia Sophia Museum, once the largest church in the world for 1000 years, and decorated with stunning 6th century golden mosaics. Then visit the Blue Mosque, designed with 6 delicate minarets and a striking blue Iznik tiled interior. Nearby, take a stroll through the site of the ancient Hippodrome, once the sporting ground of chariots and political riots, and see the Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column and Fountain of Wilhelm II. Finally, visit the Grand Bazaar, where you can shop or haggle with local merchants over unusual antiques, colorful spices, beautiful jewelry and richly textured fabrics. (B) 


Day 3 ISTANBUL - Explore the bustling Egyptian Spice Market of 17th century origin - a colorful bazaar heaped with spices, Turkish sweets, dried foods and much more. Then visit the beautifully tiled tiny Rustem Pasha Mosque hidden among the narrow cobbled market streets nearby. Next we take a Bosphorus Cruise Sightseeing Boat Trip * (2 hr boat ride) up Istanbul's winding straits for a chance to relax and admire the shoreline of beautiful mosques, lavish palaces and decadent villas - you'll see Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi Palaces, Ottoman summer mansions and Ortakoy mosque, the defensive Rumeli Fortress and Bosphorus Bridge - one of the world's largest suspension bridges, all alongside passing fishing boats, and yachts.Finally, the last stop on this Bosphorus river tour will be at the picturesque fishermen's village of Ortakoy, where you can enjoy a coffee and panoramic view of the passing boats on today's tour route from the beautiful cobbled square overlooking the Bosphorus. Day 4 GALLIPOLI, CANAKKALE - Visit Gallipoli National Park including: the Gallipoli Battlefields, Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, original tunnels and trenches at Johnston Jolly, the Nek Cemetery, Chunuk Bair New Zealander Memorial, Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Brighton Beach. After Gallipoli cross the Dardanalles and overnight in Canakkale. (B,D) 


 

Day 5 TROY, PERGAMUM - Explore Troy- the archaeological site of this 5000 years old city, scene of the legendary Fall of Troy in the Trojan War as described in Homer's Iliad, made famous by its wooden horse. See a reconstruction of the fabled Wooden Horse, the city ruins from a succession of 9 civilizations, the Roman Bouletarion, Theater and onsite museum. Later visit the hauntingly beautiful ancient city of Pergamum. (B,D) 


 

Day 6 IZMIR  ,Ephesus, CAPPADOCIA - After breakfast Full day tour of Ephesus & The House of Virgin Mary. First you will visit The Temple of Artemis, which once was one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. Then you will visit the world famous ancient Greco-Roman City of Ephesus, the most well preserved example in the world. After visiting this impressive site, you will have a lunch break. After lunch, you will visit The House of Virgin Mary, where it is believed she spent her last days. This is a holy place for both Christians and Muslims. After tour transfer to Izmir airport then flight to Kayseri and transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia.Overnight in Cappadocia.


Day 7 CAPPADOCIA - Enjoy a full-day guided tour of Cappadocia including Kaymakli Underground City, Soganli Valley, Goreme Open Air Museum. After lunch, visit Sahinefendi (Sobesos) and Mustafapasa (Sinasos). (B,D) 


Day 8 CAPPADOCIA - Take an early morning optional hot-air balloon ride over the breathtaking landscape. Walking in Ihlara Canyon, a "mirage" in the Steps of Anatolia up to Belisirma village, the ancient Peristrema: "Valley of the Sky" along the Melendiz River. After lunch, we will explore Selime, a village with cave houses at the end of the canyon and a "star wars" like landscape. (B,D) 


Day 9 CAPPADOCIA, ISTANBUL - After breakfast we will drive to our hotel in İstanbul which will stay one more night. DEPARTURE - Departure transfer to the airport. (B)
